This Nationally Recognised Work Safely at Heights refresher course is designed to review participants previously gained skills & knowledge to make sure they are still confidant on all aspects of how to safely set up & work safely at heights in all situations. 

This Work Safely at Heights refresher course is suitable for any person who is required to work at any height. 

The course covers all aspects of safe access to heights, legislative requirements, selection use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (including correct use and fitting of safety harnesses), along with practical exercises of setting up fall arrest systems and the rescue of a suspended casualty.

Our Height safety training includes an overview of legislation relating to working at heights, introduction to hazards and risks, correct use of harness and recovery procedure for fall arrest.

  • Anchor Systems, Installing Solid and Reliable Anchorage

  • Fall Restraint Systems (covered in a shorter practical session than the initial training)

  • Retrieval of Suspended Worker

 

PREREQUISITES & ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS

To enrol in this course participants must:

  • You will be required to provide evidence of your previous qualification in Work Safely at Heights or your registration will not be approved. Please send this evidence to our team at admin@iwpt.com.au when registering for this course.
  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Have a (USI)-Unique Student Identifier, please visit https://www.usi.gov.au/ if you do not have one
  • Provide a copy of their photo identification (driver's licence, proof of age card, or passport)
  • Demonstrate the ability to speak and write English to a basic level & have basic numeracy skills
  • Be able to speak English well enough to carry out work safely with other people, please inform us upon registration if you feel you have any literacy or numeracy difficulties. Some reasonable adjustments to the course can be made to assist.

 

COURSE DURATION

  • 4 Hours

 

PARTICIPANTS WILL NEED TO BRING

  • Photo identification as listed in the prerequisites for this course
  • Bring your food, free water, tea, coffee & biscuits are provided, you will be able to leave the facility during your lunch break if you wish
  • PPE including protective footwear will be required to be worn for the practical training session, we have hard hats, high visibility vests, gloves & whistles available for use if required.

 

ASSESSMENT PROCESS

  • The course will be a combination of theory & practical training where participants will be required to demonstrate industry skills & knowledge described in the units of competency included in this course.
  • Students will be required to pass a written assessment to complete the course all critical components must be demonstrated and answered correctly

 

COURSE OUTCOME

Upon completion, participants deemed competent will be issued with a:

  • Wallet size competency card
  • Statement of attainment for Work Safely at Heights -  RIIWHS204D
  • The certificate is nationally recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework and issued under the authority of the National Vocational Education and Regulator Act 2011.
