RIIWHS204E - Work Safely at Heights - Refresher course

This Work Safely at Heights refresher course is designed to review participants previously gained skills & knowledge to make sure they are still confidant on all aspects of how to safely set up & work safely at heights in all situations. Fall restraint & fall arrest will be covered in the refresher training.

Description

This Work Safely at Heights refresher course is suitable for any person who is required to work at any height. The course covers all aspects of safe access to heights, legislative requirements, selection use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (including correct use and fitting of safety harnesses), along with practical exercises of setting up fall arrest systems and the rescue of a suspended casualty.

Our Height safety training includes an overview of legislation relating to working at heights, introduction to hazards and risks, correct use of harness and recovery procedure for fall arrest.

The unit of competency for this course is:

  • RIIWHS204D- Work Safely at Heights

2.Licencing & Assessment Information

  • The training will be delivered in a 4 hour duration 9am-1pm 
  • Please note the finish time may vary depending on the individuals knowledge & Experience.
  • The course involves theory & practical demonstrations
  • Students will be required to pass a written assessment to successfully complete the course

Upon completion, participants deemed competent will be issued with a:

  • Wallet size competency card
  • Statement of attainment for RIIWHS204D Work Safely at Heights
  • The certificate is nationally recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework and issued under authority of the National Vocational Education and Regulator Act 2011.

3.Prerequisites & Important Course Info

Participants will need to:

  • Wear comfortable clothing, if the training is being done onsite please wear appropriate PPE. 
  • Wear protective footwear
  • Bring your own lunch (Water, tea, coffee & biscuits are provided)
  • Provide a copy of a previous qualification held for Work Safely at Heights 
  • Have a (USI) Number-Unique Student Identification. If you do not have a USI one can be obtained from www.usi.gov.au
  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Provide photo identification (drivers licence/passport or proof of age card)
  • Have basic numeracy skills
  • Demonstrate ability to speak and write English to a basic level 
  • Note: Please inform us upon registration If you feel you have any literacy or numeracy difficulties. Some reasonable adjustments to the course can be made to assist.
