CPCCLDG3001 Licence to Perform Dogging HRW-DG, Nationally Recognised Training

Description

This Nationally Recognised Training is an after-hours HRW Dogging course and is designed to provide participants with the essential knowledge & skills required for slinging techniques and the selection and inspection of lifting gear as well as directing the crane operator and determining safe ways of supporting different loads.

 On completion of the training, participants will be ready to undertake the SafeWork NSW assessment required to receive their High-Risk Work Licence to Perform Dogging.

  • Damage and defect reporting

  • Whistle & hand signals
  • Select & inspect lifting equipment
  • Determining load weight & SWL
  • Attach & secure the load
  • Shift load including directing, and maneuvering load to different locations
  • Unplanned & or unsafe situations
  • Inspect and separate defective equipment
  • Reporting procedures
  • Shutdown & secure site

 

PREREQUISITES & HRW LICENCE ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS 

To enrol in this course participants must:

  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Candidates are required to have a Service NSW account (You will be required to verify your ID and enrol for your HRWL Assessment with this account
  • Candidates will be required to bring one approved photo ID along to their assessment to have their identity verified by the Assessor

  • Demonstrate the ability to speak and write English to a basic level & have basic numeracy skills
  • Be able to speak English well enough to carry out high-risk work safely with other people, please inform us upon registration if you feel you have any literacy or numeracy difficulties. Some reasonable adjustments to the course can be made to assist.

 

COURSE DURATION

  • 31.5 hours training over two weeks 
  • Plus approx 8 hours Safework HRW Licence Assessment
  • WEEK ONE:
  • Three evening sessions
  • One weekend day of practical training 
  • WEEK TWO:
  • Three evening sessions
  • Saturday practical training session 
  • Sunday SafeWork NSW licence assessment 

 

PARTICIPANTS WILL NEED TO BRING

  • Candidates will be required to bring one approved photo ID along to their assessment to have their identity verified by the Assessor

  • Bring your own food, free water, tea, coffee & biscuits are provided, you will be able to leave the facility during your lunch break if you wish
  • PPE including protective footwear will be required to be worn for the practical training sessions and the SafeWork NSW assessment, we have hard hats, high visibility vests, gloves & whistles available for use if required.

 

IMPORTANT: 

There have been some important changes to how you will need to prepare for and obtain your SafeWork HRW Licence.

Please ensure candidates read through the course instructions carefully, these are sent via email once your registration is approved.

 

ASSESSMENT PROCESS

  • The course is based on the requirements of the national standards for licencing persons performing high-risk work, the training will be a combination of knowledge, calculations & practical training where participants will be required to demonstrate industry skills & knowledge described in the units of competency included in this course.
  • On completion of the training, an RTO assessment will be conducted, this assessment will identify if the participant is ready to undergo the SafeWork NSW assessment, or if further training is required.
  • To pass the SafeWork NSW assessment, all critical components must be demonstrated and answered correctly

 

COURSE OUTCOME

On successful completion of the SafeWork NSW assessment, participants will be given a:

  • Nationally recognised statement of attainment for High Risk Work CPCCLDG3001 Licence to Perform Dogging, recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework and issued under the authority of the National Vocational Education and Regulator Act 2011
  • A SafeWork NSW licence to perform high-risk work application  is to be lodged at ServiceNSW within 60 days of the completion of the assessment.
