Description
This Nationally Recognised Low Voltage Rescue course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge & skills to: Rescue someone from a Low Voltage Switchboard.
COURSE TOPICS
- Assess the incident scene, conduct DRSABCD
- CPR techniques / recovery position
- Handover to medical personnel
- Placement and inspection of rescue equipment
- Assessing and controlling hazards to rescuer, victim and others
- Isolation procedures where appropriate
- Maintaining Safe Approach Distances (SAD’s) appropriate to rescue from a live LV panel
- Involvement of external emergency services as appropriate
- LVR rescue kit
- Removing victim / self to safe location / place of safety
PREREQUISITES & ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS
To enrol in this course participants must:
- Be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Have a (USI)-Unique Student Identifier, please visit https://www.usi.gov.au/ if you do not have one
- Provide a copy of their photo identification (driver's licence, proof of age card, or passport)
- Demonstrate the ability to speak and write English to a basic level & have basic numeracy skills
- Be able to speak English well enough to carry out work safely with other people
LLND
- When enrolling into this course you will be required to complete a pre-enrolment LLND quiz which takes around 10 mins to complete. You will be issued the link to complete this quiz when applying to enrol for this course.
- Please inform us when enrolling if you feel you have any literacy or numeracy difficulties and we can arrange for suitable training and assessment support.
- We can provide one on one training and assessment for approved students, please enquire about this option with our admin team before enrolling into this course.
COURSE DURATION
- 6 Hours
PARTICIPANTS WILL NEED TO BRING
- Photo identification as listed in the prerequisites for this course
- Bring your food, free water, tea, coffee & biscuits are provided, you will be able to leave the facility during your lunch break if you wish
- PPE including protective footwear will be required to be worn for the practical training session, we have hard hats, high visibility vests, gloves & whistles available for use if required.
ASSESSMENT PROCESS
- The course will be a combination of theory & practical training where participants will be required to demonstrate industry skills & knowledge described in the units of competency included in this course.
- Students will be required to pass a written assessment to complete the course all critical components must be demonstrated and answered correctly
COURSE OUTCOME
Upon completion, participants deemed competent will be issued with a:
- Wallet size competency card
- Statement of attainment for

Module 2:
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- The certificate is nationally recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework and issued under the authority of the National Vocational Education and Regulator Act 2011.
